Épice Fern by For the Scent of It is a Oriental fragrance for women and men. Épice Fern was launched in 2022. The nose behind this fragrance is Michael Schrammel. Top notes are Ceylon Cinnamon, Star Anise, Pepper and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Lavender, Cedar, Amber and Mint; base notes are Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Ambrette and Oakmoss. JOURNEY: They say if you plant a spiced fern, this wonderful perfume will grow…who knew? The top of the fern, reaching toward the sky, brings a refreshing blast of star anise and nova mandarin. The blend of white, pink and black pepper alongside the cinnamon provides a spicy warmth to this cooling sensation. The lavender and mint are right there from the beginning and long into the heart where the cedar and amber create the backbone for the fern to climb. At the base comes the forest floor; a mélange of mossy woods, musk and sweet tonka. Where the spiced fern grows. INSPIRATION: "This scent started out of pure curiosity. I’ve never been a big fan of star anise and mint as major notes in a fragrance. I use both often in supporting roles, but this is the first I’ve used them as main characters in a scent. Anise and mint pair well for a cooling sensation, and in a fougère context, they work extremely well. I wanted to create a fragrance with them that I would actually enjoy wearing myself, and hopefully, in turn, you will as well."
