Black Sails by For the Scent of It is a Oriental fragrance for women and men. Black Sails was launched in 2021. The nose behind this fragrance is Michael Schrammel. Top notes are Lavender, Cardamom, Lemon and Gin; middle notes are Cedar, Oak and Sea Notes; base notes are Black Musk, Incense and Amber. JOURNEY: Second to the right and straight on ‘til morning…your adventure awaits. The scent begins with a fresh interplay of land and sea. The gin accord, based around juniper and citrus, brings an effervescence, while cardamom adds a subtle spice to the wooden heart. The sea winds weave between the other notes, carrying the gin’s aroma across the deck. As dusk falls on the lagoon, the sky paints the water in shades of amber. The gin never stops flowing in this lost land. INSPIRATION: "This fragrance began after watching an older movie where the main character travels to a long lost land to rescue his children. I used to watch this movie in the 90’s and the scene where he is pulled up by a giant clam to look out over this lost land always stuck with me. The pirate ship to the left, the snowy mountains in the distance and so much adventure all in this one scene. The pirate ship always caught my imagination and after watching this movie decades later, I decided to create a scent that could transport us there. It is definitely one of my most loved creations so far."
