Nao by Maese Pau is a fragrance for women and men. Nao was launched in 2024. The nose behind this fragrance is Pablo Emanuel Locascio Poletto. In Spain in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries there was a frenetic maritime commercial activity, which was possible thanks to the Naos, cargo ships that took to the great sea and circumnavigated the entire globe in search of resins, spices and all kinds of of exotic goods to then market in Europe. It was the golden age of Spanish navigation and commerce. A Nao, according to its draft, could carry from 100 to 500 tons between provisions, barrels and bales of merchandise. They were entirely made of wood, with Biscay oak reserved for frames and structure and Burgos pine for covering and lining the ship. All the wood was cut in November, December and January, always in the last quarter. They were caulked with a pitch or bitumen that was obtained by baking a mixture of 9 parts black pine resin with one part cypress resin. Imagine the aromas that filled their cellars, not only those given off by the wood and resin, but also that of the barrels of apple cider that was so necessary to prevent scurvy and dehydration of the sailors. That of the spices that drained from the bales of transported goods. Or that of the rum that sheltered and gave some joy to the crew on those hard journeys. I couldn't let those smells be forgotten by the passage of time and the replacement of those ships by current merchant ships, so devoid of the essence and atmosphere of adventure. This perfume was created in 2008 after two years of detailed studies on these ships and their incredible feats around the globe. INGREDIENTS: Virginia Cedar, Chinese Cedar, Java Vetiver, Olibanum (frankincense) from Yemen, Indian Sandalwood, Moroccan Sandaraca resin, Cypress resin, Mexican Black Copal resin, Valencian Orange Blossom (neroli), Black Pepper, Apple extract , Rosa Damascena, Oakmoss and Tong King Musk.
