Virulhaka Raja by SIAM 1928 is inspired by Virulhaka, one of the Four Heavenly Kings in Buddhist cosmology, associated with the guardianship of the South and the maintenance of karmic order in Southeast Asian traditions. The composition opens with metallic facets of copper and sulfur contrasted by the green-spicy lift of lovage and the resinous brightness of elemi.
