Sri Lanka by Optico Profumo is a Oriental Floral fragrance for women and men. Sri Lanka was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Nicola Bianchi. Top notes are Calabrian bergamot, Sweet Orange, Ginger, Pink Pepper and Star Anise; middle notes are Red Tea, Vetiver, Cedar and Sandalwood; base notes are Musk, Tonka Bean, Amber and Vanilla. Sri Lanka is an intoxicating yet delicate perfume with a pleasantly spicy and exotic accord. It opens with zesty notes of ginger, a root commonly found growing on the island off the coast of India, to then reveal a seductive heart of Ceylon tea, a precious ingredient with invigorating properties. Base notes of vetiver and Lebanese cedar finish the fragrance, leaving a long-lasting trail and unforgettable impression. Legend has it that tea was discovered by an Indian buddhist monk named Dharma. During a trip to China, the monk committed himself to an extremely long meditation session. At the end of the seventh year of uninterrupted meditation, he suddenly fell asleep. When Dharma awakened, he decided to punish himself by removing his own eyelids to never sleep again. Buddha was moved by such devotion, and where Dharma had buried his eyelids, tea plants with eyelid-shaped leaves began to grow. The monk chewed on some leaves and they immediately revived him; he could then meditate without yielding to tiredness.
