Ruben by Criminal Elements is a Chypre fragrance for men. Ruben was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Corey Newcombe. "If ever there was an alternate version of Sylphide this would be it. Finally completed in early 2019, this is the most complex fragrance I have made to date, and one which I've been gradually refining since 2017. A desire to create a more masculine fragrance for the range inspired the restructuring of the quintessential men's chypre to form something new whilst retaining some of the characteristics of the old; the traditional labdanum note replaced with a complex peppery oud and amber accord. A citrus and floral opening dominated by lavender and bergamot gives way to a heart of petitgrain, orange blossom and bitter almond, the whole composition gradually softening into an intricate oud and oakmoss base.
