Paradisus

Paradisus by House of Gray is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men. Paradisus was launched in 2018. Paradisus was created by Eugene Au and Emrys Au. After starting AVÉ PARFUM, Founder and Creative Director, Elizabeth Rose, turned her attention towards building her fragrance house. Her first three fragrances are the culmination of seven years of jotting down notes in a little notebook or scraps of paper that she carried in her purse, in an effort to create deeply inspired fragrances that are constructed with exceptional ingredients and that are also cruelty-free. She places significant emphasis on using luxurious natural materials. With a background in herbal medicine, it would not be unusual to find traces of herbalism and spirituality in her fragrances, but her palette of inspiration knows no limits. Invoking the purity and tranquility of the Garden of Eden, Paradisus is a lipstick and face powder fragrance that smells vintage and even a bit boudoir. The orris root is intense--starchy, deep, dense and rooty, calling to mind mud or clay. There is an implication of cool dampness, like shallow pools of sweet water, and a fresh feeling that reminds us of aldehydes, and it's all smoothed over and tied together by the natural woody-creaminess of palo santo. Paradisus is perhaps the most artistic and imaginative offering from this house.
