Matsya by Nayassia is a fragrance for women and men. Matsya was launched in 2020. The nose behind this fragrance is Randa Hammami. Top notes are Mint, Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Incense, Clary Sage and Saffron; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), Sandalwood and Virginia Cedar. One day, near Tripoli's coast, a beautiful girl appeared adorned with jewels on a great blackfish. The son of the Sultan came down from Gharyan to see her. She told him she came from an island, Malta, and, having been promised her liberty would be respected, she advanced down one of the streams. But a net was thrown to cut off her retreat; therefore, she continued upstream, pursued by the crowd and the Sultan’s son; then, having arrived at the foot of the mountain near the source, she called on God. An abyss opened, and she was engulfed by the river and the fish, and ever since, the waters have disappeared. Legend has it that seventy thousand stones were thrown in to find the water – not the waters of the sources that now form a marvelous underwater source, but those of rain, a symbol of life. A perfume of contrast, Matsya finds an unusual strength in the heart of oud wood. Intensely refreshed by strong citrus notes and an infusion of mint tea, the wood, worth the price of gold, is enveloped by a noble essence of Virginia cedar, sandalwood, and incense.
