Top notes are Water Notes, Italian Lemon and Bergamot; middle notes are Spices, Virginia Cedar and Rose; base notes are Tobacco, Ambroxan, Incense, Indonesian Patchouli Leaf, Vanilla and Tonka Bean. “At the same time bright, sensual, then suddently dark, L’Etoile Noire is truly a paradoxical fragrance, translating the light and dark sides that each of us each carries in our soul--our yin and yang. The top notes of Italian bergamot and lemon are intense, yet also very fleeting. They quickly give way to carnal and spicy floral notes. At the heart are blue ginger, elemi resin, rose, and petitgrain. The base consists of the dark shadows found in oud, gaiac, tobacco, and sandalwood, turning to the light with vanilla, violet, and white musk.
