Island Blackstrap by Solstice Scents is a fragrance for women and men. Island Blackstrap was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Angela St.John. Top notes are Molasses, Pineapple, Coconut, Rum, Sugar Cane and Oak; middle notes are Coconut, Frangipani, Ylang-Ylang, Sea water and Tahitian Gardenia; base notes are Vetiver and Oak. "Island Blackstrap features a tropical explosion of creamy coconut, top notes of fine dark rum and pineapple juice, and a touch of oak paired with a variety of sugar processes: pure sugar cane juice, rich and sticky blackstrap molasses, simple syrup, and sticky caramelized sugar. Infused in between these dominant notes are accent notes of saltwater and a medley of tropical flowers: frangipani absolute, ylang-ylang absolute, and Tahitian gardenias infused in coconut oil. This perfume is not heavily floral but rather the flowers carried on the breeze add to the tropical atmosphere. The saltwater is likewise very soft and simply takes the edge off the heavy sweet notes, as does the touch of oak and vetiver in the base. This perfume is a dark rich gourmand with tropical elements. The opening smells like the creamiest, most decadent pina colada which gives way to an explosion of sugar laced with soft flowers, the touch of sea spray, and wood notes. The rum accord contains a blend of synthetics as well as a Jamaican rum CO2. The dry down is very sweet with various sugar varieties, creamy coconut, very soft oak and vetiver and the faintest trace of saltwater." (from the brand's website)
