Top notes are Thyme, Neroli, Lemon, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Mandarin Orange and Peppermint; middle notes are Broom, Wool, Jasmine Sambac, Violet, Pear and Black Currant; base notes are Musk, Sandal, Cedarwood and Coumarin. Báinín takes its name from the homespun wool that's traditionally knitted through Aran jumpers and woven through the tweed of the collarless jackets worn for generations by Aran fishermen. Pronounced ‘bawneen’, it translates to ‘little white’ in English, after the ivory-coloured skeins of wool.
