Duchess of York by Prince Matchabelli is a Floral fragrance for women. Duchess of York was launched in 1934. Duchess of York is a beautiful lilac soliflore that captures the essence of freshly picked lilac blossoms. The fragrance offers kaleidoscopic facets, oscillating between lily of the valley and jasmine-like qualities, while balancing between polleny/spicy and sharp/soft characteristics. It manages to smell distinctly purple without resembling the more familiar violet or iris references used by modern perfumers. The scent has an old-fashioned charm that was once very popular but became less common in contemporary perfumery after being overused in functional products during the mid-20th century.
