Cülyan by Murad Mesud is a Woody Chypre fragrance for women and men. Cülyan was launched in 2020. The nose behind this fragrance is Murad Mesud. Explanation by the perfumer Murad Mesud: "One of my friend, who is a young Azerbaijani writer wanted to feel his Dad's specific smell again, because he wanted to remember him and feel him close again after the years he lost him. His dad was a fellow Soviet man and of course, used to smell just as a typical Soviet man. He writes: "Every home, every family has it's own smell. Our home's smell has changed after my Dad past away. Like, it is one person less now. My Dad took away the smell molecules of his old perfume and cigarettes (the ones called 'Soyuz' ("the Union"), LM, Marlboro) when he past away. Literally, one molecule was reducted from my Dad's home, my Mom's hair. Yesterday my Mom opened her old trousseau chest. I put on some of my Dad's half-used old perfume on my neck and wrists, and lighted one of the last packages of my Dad's cigarettes. And my Dad's smell evaporated from my neck and wrists and condensed on my daughter while my Mom was hugging me and crying on my shoulders. Omar didn't know that 'dad's smell' was the same or close to everyone's dad's smell because of the same or very similar lifestyles and standards. But this was so obvious for me so I told him that I wanted to make 'his Dad's smell.' He was so deeply surprised and a bit worried about how would his Mom would react to this new perfume after 18 years of absence of her beloved man. In fact, not only my was my dad absent, his smell was absent for 18 years too... In order to make this reunion happen, I gathered all the necessary ingredients like bergamot, oak moss, patchouli, tobacco, pear and some earthy notes to get that magical smell back from those old days. Now the perfume is ready to be used and bring back all the memories related to our dads, our loved ones etc. If you are older than 30 and used to be a part of the Soviet Union, you as well can find your dad's smell in this tiny bottle!" And the perfume's is the same name as with the village - CÜLYAN - where he last saw his father.
