Drunken Jade

Drunken Jade by BU FENG is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Drunken Jade was launched in 2024. Top notes are Grapes and Aldehydes; middle notes are Thyme, Labdanum and Styrax; base notes are Cedarwood and Guaiac Wood. The perfume is inspired by and portrays ancient Chinese musician and famous Taoist, JI Kang (223AD-263AD). He could get so freely and charmingly drunk, that tales depict the scene as “When he is drunk, he is as beautiful as a jade, and when he walks, it’s like a jade mountain moving.” Besides his remarkable charisma and vigor, he’s most known for being one of the most talented and well-known musicians of Chinese history. He’s also a famous Taoism philosopher and a great rebel who doesn’t answer to the empire’s invitation to join the ruling class just because he disagrees with the empire’s philosophy and legitimacy. He died at the empire’s hand, never give in. He withheld his belief and pursuit of Taoism – the true self, don’t bend to power, and live a life “naturally.” The fragrance creation focuses on the drunken atmosphere, using animalic and wine-like scents to recreate this after-drunk anecdote for reflecting the real, unrestrained Ji Kang.
