Checkmate Black Knight by Armaf is a woody aromatic fragrance for men within the brand's Checkmate collection. It opens with a blend of resinous olibanum, cardamom, pink pepper, bergamot, orange and incense, creating a spicy, smoky and slightly citrusy introduction. The heart brings in aromatic and herbal tones of lavender and eucalyptus, softened by rose. In the base, Ambrox Super, patchouli, cypriol, guaiac wood, copaiba, sorbettolide and vanilla combine to give a woody, resinous and musky-vanillic drydown. The fragrance emphasizes contrasts between cool aromatic notes and warm woods and resins, resulting in a structure that moves from spiced smoke to cleaner herbs and finally to a smoother, more rounded base.
