Study in Scarlet by Jorum Studio is a fragrance inspired by the Sherlock Holmes novel of the same name and its ties to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a Scottish author associated with both Scotland and London’s Marylebone. The composition centers on a dark, nuanced tea accord supported by fruits, florals, and resins. Black tea and davana create a rich, slightly aromatic-fruity opening, while saffron and oud oil add a deeper, more textured character. Osmanthus, Rose de Mai, jasmine, and champaka absolutes form a floral heart with leathery, apricot-like and creamy nuances. Labdanum and benzoin resin in the base lend an ambery, balsamic warmth that grounds the composition.
