Top notes are Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and elemi; middle notes are Violet and Styrax; base notes are Benzoin, Labdanum and Ambergris. Brooding with rich intensity, Moderato’s arrival is announced by animalistic amberette and resinous elemi. Notes of tender violet create a floral backdrop for the sweet-balsamic accords of styrax to come alive. Moderato’s heart-rending finale is a heady union of incense-evoking benzoin, labdanum, and ambergris.
