Top notes are Clary Sage, Cognac, Palisander Rosewood, Ylang-Ylang, Tarragon, Fennel, Lemon, Bergamot, Ionones, Mint and Wormwood; middle notes are Lily of the Valley, Carnation, Bulgarian Rose, Geranium, Jasmine and Amyris; base notes are Tonka Bean, Castoreum, Cambodian Oud, Natural Musk, Sandalwood, Ambergris, Oakmoss, Vetiver and Civet. Chyp Fritzsche by Jinx Smells is described as a study of early emerald-green chypre perfumery. It opens with citrus, aromatic, and herbal facets, moving into a pronounced floral heart and settling on a mossy, animalic, and woody base that emphasizes a vintage-leaning chypre character. "In late 2024 I stumbled upon an auction lot of 44 vintage Fritzsche Brothers oils dating somewhere between 1940 and 1950. Roughly half were used in this composition. Chyp Fritzsche isn’t just a reconstruction of one of the oldest, vintage, emerald-green Chypre formulas, but a reconstruction using the oldest possible vintage materials.
