Have you ever heard of it being used in a musk perfume? What about Oud Extraordinaire (Rayong), its notes of sweet thick jam transmuting Bourbon vetiver? Apricot and musk? Yes, drenched in Indian oud with a touch of spice. A Spaniard on horseback, leather garb in the Mediterranean summer, stopping to pluck out ginger root amidst fields of camomile. Honey and cinnamon sprinkled into a brew of 70s Mysore granules. To sweeten the animlic blast of musk that comes at you from every side, there’s beeswax and jasmine flexile, ‘taruni’, while vintage Timor sandalwood lowers the pitch a notch to make this a musk perfume that’s easy to show off. And with vintage Tibetan musk as the carrier – proper pods sliced open, then steeping the grains at close to 20%.
