Matí by Tanaïs is a Floral Green fragrance for women and men. Matí was launched in 2021. The nose behind this fragrance is Tanaïs. Top notes are Rose Petals, Pepper and Timur; middle notes are Turkish Rose, Betel Leaf, Rose, Jasmine Sambac and Cocoa; base notes are Mitti Attar, Oud, Vetiver, Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Musk. Matí is a homeland scent, made from monsoon rain soaked clays distilled in sandalwood, sourced from Kannauj. Each batch of Matí is ephemeral, a memory of that particular monsoon season. In my mother’s village, little terracotta bricks were a snack for expecting mothers, tiny pieces of earth chocolate. Betel leaf, the spicy green note of my grandmother’s beloved after dinner treat, paan, is the heart of this composition, an ode to my foremothers. Notes: Head - rose petals, pink peppercorn, timur pepper; Heart - betel leaf, roasted cocoa, jasmine sambac, rose attar, turkish rose; and Base - ganges mitti attar, ruh khus (wild green vetiver) attar, wet soil, musk, tonka bean, vanilla, sylheti oud.
